The Kadizzles have been volunteering for the National Forest Service for about ten years. The Forest Service is a good organization to volunteer for. Think about the vast number of retired people who could contribute to society, many do. The other day Kadizzle walked along with a friend who loves to pick up trash along the highway. There are a lot of good people who do this. The other day Kadizzle wrote about the religious dingers wasting their time selling their god. Why not do something useful? Think of the young Mormons selling god. Young men could be doing so much real good, helping children, old people, improving parks, or a thousand other things, but no they are selling the Jesus ponzi scheme.
The local library is a good place to volunteer. A lot of old goats do. Old people get lonely. What better way to meet people than to join a group doing something useful.
How much silly work gets done maintaining churches, and doing church stuff? If there is a God up there he must shake his head. Mrs McGinnley is down the street from the church with a leaking roof she cannot afford to fix. The church keeps up the roof on the church and says the hell with Mrs. McGinnley.
The church is empty and heated all week while old people do not have the money to keep their house warm. Wow, that is exactly what God wants. Who would worship a God that puts so much emphasis on one building while so many homes fall apart? Of course like a Hooplehead some person will mentally justify keeping up the temple while the roads crumble.
Churches are a business and should be treated as such. A church should have open books and pay taxes. Two great examples of the church business are the Catholic Church, and the Mormon Church. Both have franchised their way to billions, tax free. Both have build headquarters wasting tons of poor peoples money. Both have created massacres and robbed parishioners blind. Both have lied, cheated, committed sexual crimes, and abused children.
No business model is better than selling fantasy. Religion makes the entertainment business look like peanuts. Trump of course is a one man fantasy show. Sometimes reality sucks, but it is all we have. You cannot dream yourself to prosperity.
Selling fantasy is bad enough, but the brand of fantasy the Hooples thrive on is toxic. Paranoid fantasy is devastating to society. The Tea Party promotes the idea the government is evil. Where does that get us. Then of course you have the continual idea that immigrants are coming. The Indians were justified in that story, but not the Hooples.
Reading the news it is obvious the Republicans have no choice but to govern as obstructionist. The worst among them have too much power. The nut cases want to continue on the path Trump set of selling lies and divisive nonsense. We all suffer.
