When the life of a drug addict is just about over you can shoot them with Narcan and get their engine going again. What if you could shoot something into a Trump supporter, or a Tea Party Hooplehead and revive their brain? You can. You need a needle to penetrate the addicts skin with Narcan. What does it take to penetrate the concrete skull of a Hooplehead. Who knows? If you could get a Hoople to read one intelligent thing a day it might work. If Kadizzle had to prescribe something for the Hooples it would be a daily dose of Heather Cox Richardson. She tears apart the right wing lies with truth and logic.
If you are a drunk or a drug addict you have to stop taking the poison. For Hoopleheads that means no more Fox News, no more right wing radio, no more Tea Party propaganda. Is there a twelve step program for Hooples? Not sure what the twelve steps would be. Step one would be read something well written by a knowledgeable person telling the truth. Step two would be leave the cult. Step three would be question everything. Step four would be quit that religious state of mind where you believe in nonsense made up two thousand years ago. Step four would be learn some science, become interested in reality and abandon fantasy. Step five recognize lies. Step six stay away from simple minded people or at least confront them. Step seven test what you know, observe what works. Step eight respect education. Step nine don't look for simple solutions to complex problems. Step ten know when you are being used, played, fooled. Step eleven know how con men operate. Step 12 test what you know against the real world.
Alcoholics anonymous works for a lot of people. People with a similar problem support each other to break the addiction. Try it with some friends who left the Trump cult. Meet with them and see if they can help you leave the cult. Once you find our you can live without the lies, the false promises, and the fake hope, maybe life will be better.
