Five ebike warriors took off through the desert at Fort McDowell park today. What a wonderful ride. 16 miles of very nice trail. The long downhill stretch must have been several miles long. The biking was like downhill skiing in the desert, only the moguls were made of sand.
A bike trail is relatively easy to make in the desert, but it seems impossible to get the Forest Service to promote bike trails.
Kadizzle had his theory proven today. The athletic young guys with no power assist boomed by us like jets. Any person who says ebikes go to fast has not seen a young speedster on the trail. Kadizzle was buzzing downhill at a very good clip when he was startled by a powerless biker passing him on the wrong side. This could end up in a very serious accident.
Statistics indicate the ebike users are gowning in number. After the bike ride the trail crew went to a brewery for lunch. In Fountain hills the brew pub was next to the famous fountain. If you have not experienced the column of water that shoots up 15 stories in the air make it on you list when you are nearby. The fountain can be seen from forty miles away.
