The Cults

Kadizzle is 73.  During those 73 years Kadizzle has encountered a few cults. Back in West Virginia there was a famous cult of the Hari Krishna. They built an incredible edifice, and were involved in drugs, sex, and murder  Also back in the East Kadizzle encountered some Amish, another amazing cult. Now it is hard to avoid the Mormon cult, and the Jehovah's are always down in the park.  Payson has the Tea Party Cult, a subdivision of the Trump Cult.

Cults always have some outlandish idiocy all members believe in. Almost always there is some mythical figure who they all believe is magic. The cult members love having a god they can see. Sometimes the god guy claims to be outright god, but then usually the cult leader claims a special relationship to the all mighty. The Pope is a classic case. In fact the Catholic Church invented the whole cult idea.

Cults usually have a theme. The Tea Party cult like the idea of being attacked by the " radical left".  The Mormons sell a goofy heaven where you get to become god of your own planet. These cults operate a lot like pyramid schemes. You bring in more people willing to believe and you get to move up in the cult.

The most important thing for a cult member is being willing to give up on reality.  What could be better than inventing your own world? If you want to believe in your own world the best thing would be to have a bunch of other people who believed in the same nonsense you do. Fox News made a fortune bringing cult members together. Alex Jones, has a marvelous cult.

The real magic of cults is you get to say, I am not the only crazy person that believes this nonsense. Cults operate on the idea that if you have enough people believing something then it is true.  Unfortunately is does not work. All those cults that predicted the end of the world have failed. The Trump cult is on the ropes, even the Hooplehead admitted it yesterday.

Cults have to be careful.  A cult must stay away from things that can be proven. That is why religious cults work so well. You can prove Trump lies. You can prove Alex Jones lied, and you can prove Fox News is built on lies. Eventually even the dumbest Hooplehead can smell a lie.

Cults always abuse people. The most common abuse is bilking the cult members of money. Trump does it, the Mormons do it, and so does every cult. One strange thing about cults is the hypocrisy. Cult leaders almost always live a life of luxery while they bilk the unwashed.
