Some mislead people have been spreading the rumor Kadizzle is a dangerous psychopath. A person supposedly in great danger from the mentally disturbed Kadizzle is Shirly, the head of the Tea Party in Payson. Kadizzle and Shirly had a great breakfast together today. She may be ostracized for her sins, but you have to give her credit. Having breakfast with a psychopath is no mean feat. Kadizzle ate the eggs and bacon, but manage to leave Shirly alone. Shirly has what too many lack. She has the courage to step up to the plate and confront problems head-on. Even if you disagree with Shirly's politics you have to give her credit for being open minded and willling to discuss problems.
Shirly and Kadizzle had an amicable breakfast most of the talk was exchanging histories, and very little toxic politics.
How do we sew up the great divide in this country? We have to learn to listen to each other. We all love to talk, and Kadizzle is more guilty than most, but the willingness to listen is a real skill.
Shirly summed up her role very well with the word triangulator. When you get to warring factions someone needs to step in and add some order to the mess. This is not always a good job, nor an easy one. For mom to settle battles between siblings, or different family factions makes being mom difficult. One old technique that was used was to put two opposing side in a room and tell them to accomplish some task together.
Guess what? The two opposing sides have a task. We have to save this planet, this economy, this health care system, this country, and so many more things for our children. That is the task.
Kadizzle has told the story before, but when he worked with coal miners in southern West Virginia the black and white miners got along pretty well. Why? It came down to a simple matter. When the roof fell on you, you did not care what color the man was who pulled you out. The roof is falling on us. Climate change, crooked politicians, and so many other problems are that roof. Who is going to pull us out? Is it going to be a Democrat, or a Republican? Who cares as long as we survive. So how do we mend fences. Step one, might be quit lying. Step two might be admit when you lost. Those used to be two old simple rules.
When you attend an athletic event everyone gets to see the results. It is fairly easy to see who won the race, but there is one new problem. Maybe that person is on drugs. That is where transparency matters. Transparency involves that magic thing called evidence. If you have it you show it. If you don't you don't just make something up. This is a lesson Trump and Kari Lake failed. Guess who gets to decide evidence. Nope, not the Tea Party, nor the coffee club. It is the court system. Once that goes to hell and honorable men no longer sit on the bench we are doomed, but so far that system has held.
