Coal Miner

 This picture almost brought tears to the eyes of Kadizzle. This coal miner rushed home to take his son to a basketball game. He did not have time to change or get cleaned up. The picture has gone viral. 

Kadizzle at one time was an underground coal miner. Underground coal miners are special people. Working underground with these men shaped my life. You learned so much about life from them. They had a special code of humanity, that never leaves you. There is no racism underground. When a guy pulls you out from under a rock that fell on you, you don't care what color he is. The coal miners Kadizzle met in southern West Virginia had more humanity than most preachers Kadizzle ever dealt with. Once Kadizzle went to a coal mine in the mountains of Southern West Virginia. He was young then. Kadizzle was at this remote dirty mine up on the side of a mountain. Sitting outside the mine office at lunch Kadizzle had none. Two miners blackened with coal dust offered Kadizzle some lunch. Kadizzle taught mine safety to the coal miners in Southern West Virginia. They were grateful. Once in the heart of the southern coal mines Kadizzle put on a safety class for the miners. At the end of the class the miners gave Kadizzle a pocket knife they had gone together to purchase. It was a thank you Kadizzle will never forget. 

When you go over to the wall and flip that light switch always think of some people hundreds of feet under you mining that coal. It is a dangerous, thankless job. 

A story Kadizzle likes to tell is about his time in Eastern Ohio working to promote mine safety. The human relations guy who was Kadizzle's boss often spoke badly of the miners, and bitched about how much they were paid. The white shirted guy had never been in a mine. One day Kadizzle was with the uppity man when he made his first trip underground. We went into a dangerous part of the mine where a lot of the top had fallen. Old Mr. Brave office man's eyes got big as he looked around. You could tell he was scared. After his eyes roamed he said " These guys deserve every cent they get".  Kadizzle has never in his life seen such an instant change in attitude.  If only you could do that with a Trump supporter. Maybe if a Trump supporter saw Trump laughing with his family about bilking the cult it would work.
