Do they read? Do they understand what they read?

The fringe people, the cults, and the strange religious people in the past never seemed like a real threat, but all that has changed. Reading about Trump and his most recent pronouncements, reading about Marjorie Taylor Green suggesting a new civil war, and following the Republican party one should be concerned. One cloud is not a problem but a sky full is. 

The information is there, the Hooples can read it, but apparently their brains do not process the information like normal people do. When Trump says he will take revenge on the Democrats when elected the Hoople see this as a great move. Where normal people see danger, the Hooples see fun. Hooples cannot see complexity. Simplicity is the drug the Hoopleheads thrive on. A Hoople can understand a simple conspiracy theory, but they cannot see through the complex way Republicans feed money to the rich. 

Here is an example of the Hoople mind. The local Hooples can see and complain about where $50,000 of the city budget goes. On the other hand the 900 billion in taxes the rich owe is something they just cannot register. Republicans love the fact that story time is so easy. OK kids today we will read you about Hunter's laptop. Hunter has a magic laptop that explains everything. Hunter's dad has a friend named China, that wants to steal all your money. OK, kids take a nap while the Trumpster cleans the cookie jar.
