Story Time

Old Kadizzle wandered down to the new neighbors building project. Forest was having a problem with his skid steer loader and needed to let it cool down. So while it cooled it was story time. Each of us recounted stories. Forest is just like Kadizzle for story telling. As we finished Forest told a good one.

According to Forest the moon landing placed a recording of many people from different places talking in their native language on the moon. One recording was in Navajo. When the astronauts were practicing for the moon landing they dressed in their moon suites practiced in the harshest land they could find in the southwest, which happened to be on the Navajo reservation.

While they were practicing an old Navajo came by herding sheep with his grandson. The old man spoke no English, but the grandson could speak Navajo. The PR man for the NASA group asked the Navajo to record a message that would be included in the package that would be left on the moon.

The old Navajo spoke into the recorder with his message, and told his grandson not to tell the PR man what he said. The grandson laughed and did as instructed. The message was placed on the moon, and no one ever knew what the old Navajo said. However there was a duplicate of the recordings, and a historian decided to have them translated. It turned out the old Navajo's message was " Beware of the White man, he will steal your land".
