Back in the saddle

Payson is beginning to feel like home. We have made many nice friends and new neighbors. Last night two new neighbors invited us over for a leftover dinner. It was great, and they are both good cooks.

As we drove down the mountain into the bowl that is Payson we could see the Phoenix pollution in the distance. It was amazing to see such a thick fog of pollution. People used to come to Phoenix for clean air, now they need to leave to breath. Humans have no regard for reality. Like termites we destroy the very house we feed on.

Reading the NYT today is depressing. There are so many problems, and the world is plagued with the Republicans mindset. What is the Republican mindset?  I got mine and I want to make sure you don't get it. Add to that " I want more, and I am entitled to it".  A Republican was on local television last night promoting an idea that would make it impossible to ever raise taxes. Protecting the rich from taxes is all the Republican Party is about. Nothing has changed since the days of the castle. The king built a castle, and the peasants fed him. Nothing has changed.
