Inovation

Upside down and backward is the way to describe our mass transit adventure yesterday.  With our daughter Erin the Kadizzles took the new transit train to downtown Denver.  The train should have been put in service 15 years ago.  The train now whisk people to the airport from downtown.  In stead of builing the rail system in the first place Denver built an insane highway to the airport.  So for dozens of years people have been wasting billions of gallons of fuel that could have been saved if the transit system had been built in a timely fashion.

For Erin's neighborhood it is a great new service.  Fran can walk about a quarter mile jump on the train and ride into the middle of the airport.  In the other direction you jump off at Union Station down town. Every 15 minutes a train runs.  Why did we tear up all the wonderful commuter train tracks in every town in the country?  The Denver train allows you to take your bike.  Kadizzle may give it a try.  It would be fun to bike on the many bike paths in Denver.

Erin lives where the old Stapleton airport used to be.  The old control tower is about 700ft  away.  The control tower complex will be made into a fancy eating and recreation area.   Since everything could be planned in this area it is sparkling new.  Many good ideas have been put in place, and the greatest thing is the green belts that surround us.  A short bike ride gets you into the huge park area that has been built along the creek as a natural pathway to downtown.
