A Requiem for the American Dream

Old Kadizzle was sitting as usual in front of the television.  A critical part of the day is watching Jeopardy.   This test the function of the brain.  The phone rings and it is Shaneka.  Old Shaneka ask Kadizzle if he knows who Noam Chomsky is.  Kadizzle knows Chomsky strikes terror into the heart of idiots.  In many word battles right wingers will fire out Chomsky as the devil.  Shaneka has just watched a Netflix program " A requiem for the American Dream".  Shaneka insist it is the whole nine yards.  So Kadizzle and The Commander decide to watch Chomsky after the regular news.

Now Kadizzle highly recommends this documentary.  Watching this concise description of what goes on is like blowing the cob webs out of the brain.  Chomsky points out that the United States was never meant to be a country that promoted equality.  Now this seems impossible until you watch the documentary where he underlines what the original thinkers and documents actually say.  Our founding fathers feared the masses and did not want them to have a true democracy.

It is nice to have a breeze go through your mind once in awhile.  The puzzle is how can you present information to someone that contradicts their world view and have it actually change their world view? People love religion because you just believe, you don't question, you don't think, you don't test, you just believe.  How simple, how convenient.  So many times Kadizzle has confronted Mormons, 7th Day adventist and the whole host of believers with logic.  It just will not penetrate.  Now we live in the time of Donald Trump.  The same people who believe there is a carburetor in Detroit that will get 100 mpg, and the oil companies are keeping it off the market, believe in The Donald.  Facts, history, information, logic, statistics don't matter.

Over and over the thought kept going through Kadizzles mind.  What if you sat beside a hard core right wing Republican and watched this documentary, what would happen in their mind?  Of course the answer is nothing.  So many times Kadizzle has handed Mormons a book that totally refutes their insanity, what happens?  Nothing.  Give a person a well researched set of information that reveals the fraud of their thinking, what happens?  They run into their safe place and blame the devil for trying to open their eyes to reality.  That cocoon feels so good.
