Once upon a time far away, and long ago Kadizzle had to become certified to inspect dams. The fellow teaching the class had investigated the Buffalo Creek disaster. That was the breach of a dam in West Virginia that killed 78 people.
The teacher told the story of how he stood on top of what used to be the dam and a bunch of dingers speculated why the dam failed. The teacher said he pointed to a tree nearby. In the tree at a level higher than the dam was garbage from the creek. Yup, the water went over the top of the dam, it was not complicated.
What's the point? People dance, and sing about world problems, but the answer has always been right there, in the tree. This morning Kadizzle read on NPR where one person is making 12 million dollars an hour. Now does anyone wonder why that has created five billion people in poverty. Maybe you need to go to the top of the dam and see the garbage in the tree. Lets wring our hands and say what are we going to do. The Mine Health and Safety Administration decided they were not going to let the the water go over any dams at coal mines. Gee what could we do about 81 people having half the wealth of the world, or 400 families having half the wealth of the United States. Nope, just cannot figure it out.
