Rooming with Dorthy Lamour.

Will Rodgers is down the hall and Jackie Gleason is in the room right across from ours.  Well they would be if it were back in the day.  The Kadizzles spent the night at the La Pasada hotel in Winslow Arizona.  The La Pasada was part of the train station when everyone took trains.  Last night Kadizzle sat in the lobby with a Navajo musician.  Normally he just sits there and plays classical guitar.  After engaging him in conversation he mesmerized me with his historical knowledge of the hotel.  It felt like a Navajo story teller was in front of me. His delivery was unique and so fascinating.

Dorthy Lamour stayed in our room.  On most days the Kadizzles are close to the Lake Roosevelt dam in Arizona.  My Indian story teller explained that when the dam was completed the laborers were out of work so the famous Mary Coulter who designed the place hired them to build La Pasada.  Here technique for designing was unique.  She made up a fantasy and it involved a story about a Spanish family.  The story turned into the building.
