Go out, don't go out

Yesterday was not a perfect day for sailing.  For some strange reason the lake looked fairly doable, while the wind on land seemed strong. Add to that the temperature was a little on the cool side.  Kadizzle thought maybe yes, maybe no.  Finally he hooked up the Rusty 1 and drove down to the boat ramp.  When he got there he changed his mind and did not feel like overturning.  On the way back he saw Cliff out bucking the wind.  Kadizzle went to the other boat ramp and Cliff invited him out on his boat.  The wind seemed to settle and was just right.  Kadizzle told Cliff to take him to shore and Kadizzle launched the Rusty 1.  What a launch, it blew the Rusty one into the bushes, but the little motor saved the day.  Now, Kadizzle and Cliff were each on their own little ship putzing about.  Of course the wind came up and the Rusty 1 became a wild horse.  Kadizzle just wanted to get back to shore right side up.  The jib came loose and was of no use, but Kadizzle managed some beautiful boat handling and sailed up to the dock. A small boat and a big wind are two things Kadizzle has not done for many years.  It is a different ball game that does not tolerate mistakes well.
