An Old Coal Miner

Yesterday Kadizzle was supposed to talk to Sylvie's class about coal mining. All the Halloween excitement at school made it impossible, so the mission was accomplished this morning.  As the kids lined up outside yesterday Sylvie's fourth grade girl friend was standing beside Sylvie disguised in her Halloween outfit as a cheerleader zombie.  Strangely the little girl fell to the ground.  Kadizzle thought it was part of a zombie act.  She fell again and seemed to be having some sort of seizure.  This caused a great deal of commotion and Kadizzle did his best as an ex EMT to try to help the little girl.  The ambulance was called a with the parents the girl was taken away in the mist of several hundred school kids dressed in their costumes.  Ava seems OK today.  However, it scared a lot of here friends.  The other kids all donated candy to her today to make up for her missed Halloweening last night.

Sot today Kadizzle did talk to the class about coal mining.  A fourth grade boy asked Kadizzle if he ever encountered Tommyknockers.   Well it was surprising the boy knew what they are.  Maybe you don't, but there is a legend started by the Irish coal miners that there are elf like creatures in mines called Tommyknockers.  Kadizzle never met one, but we had fun talking about them.
