Someone grabbed the president slapped him around and told him here is a speech read it. Trump could not resist starting the speech with a lie. Trump said he immediately called the National Guard. Then he went on to say more things he obviously did not believe.
People's willingness to believe lies is incredible. It is fun to believe in Santa, it is comforting to believe in Jesus, but no one brings you presents down your chimney, and walking on water is not a technological possibility in the time of the Bible.
For better or worse there is this think called reality, that is why there is whiskey, wine, and beer. If you don't like reality have a drink, but don't just make up another reality and believe it. That is what happens when you join the Republican Party.
