A cooked landscape

The day looks like perfection.  The sun is peeking over the Eastern mountains.  Yesterday Kadizzle and Winky jumped on the ebikes up the desert valley about three miles.  The entire area was burned from the summer fires.  However, this is not one hundred percent bad.  Now you can see what you have never seen before.  You can see the ground and the homes of the ancients.  Right away on the bike ride we found a big Indian site.  It was right beside the road and we had driven by it many times.  It was a big site with an amazing amount of pottery shards.  The ancients always liked being near streams, and here they had a steep drop down to the stream.  Farther up the same stream we found some more small sites.  This winter will be one of discovery.  The fire did in days what takes us months.  The trails have been cleared by fire.
