The good old Urban Legend

Yesterday Lord Kadizzle got an email about how the song "In God We Trust" has been banned by radio stations. Sounds strange doesn't it? When you read these things you can always smell something fishy. The key to this one was the fact that no specific radio station was mentioned. When these rumors are spread they always use the technique of being vague. Of course if the thing was entirely traced to its roots it turns out the implication is somehow Obama is behind it. Now we all know there is a a crowd that believes Obama is the Anti Christ out to do us in. People afraid of black people naturally will be prone to believe Obama doesn't want you to have "In God we Trust" on our money. Being afraid, paranoid, and hopped up on foolishness is what used to lead to lynchings and all the other fun things of the far right. The Snopes site does a good job of busting these phony rumors. If you suspect you are being fed a story check it out. Sometimes you don't even have to go that far. When Sara Palin declares there are "Death Panels" you should take it at face value to be a bunch of nonsense.
