Ray put it all together
Most of our out of state visitors to North Dakota get to meet our artist friend Ray. Ray has spent at least a year revamping a garage in Stanton into another one of his works of art. If you get to Stanton be sure to stop in and look at his masterpiece, not only the wonderful exterior, but also the cabinet work inside. Ray does more in his sleep than most of our coffee clutch gang in Hazen gets done in a lifetime. If more retired folks would get off their ass, and commit to some community projects just think what we could have. The Commander and Lord Kadizzle had the pleasure of helping Ray harvest some of the lumber that went into his project. If you need a building get an artist, if you need a saw horse hire a carpenter.
Life in the Dakotas
Work, work, work, poor old Lord Kadizzle has been working hard to make the country safe for democracy. Democracy means among other things refitting all the power plants with new exhaust pipes. Today I found out I will be involved in another power plant retrofit in Center North Dakota. The Commander has been having a major battle with one rabbit. After two days improving the defenses of the garden perimeter she may be able to keep the one rabbit out. If she succeeds she will be called to the Mexican border. Looks like sailing for the weekend.

Midget Pirates subdue the King
Amongst midgets Lord Kadizzle is know as "The King". Under the false impression he was anchored in a safe harbor, Lord Kadizzle rested briefly on the good ship. Small midget pirates carefully made it onto the boat and subdued his lordship. Fortunately pirates of this size can be easily thrown overboard, and often make good bait.

Jasper Littlebottom happy with Garden
Our gardener Jasper Littlebottom has already had an excellent harvest, and it is just mid July. Among other things, Jasper did not till the garden this year. As this is written Jasper is chopping up fresh huge onions, that will be baked with young tators. Later today Jasper's tators and onions will join some steak on the back of the good ship Sovereign. It is a perfect day and Miss Littlebottom is delighted with her produce.
Al Gore Versus Dunder Head
July 18, Al Gore gave an excellent speech on the climate. Either read it or watch it on youtube, but it is a must. Watching Gore deliver his speech one could only dream about the world we would have if Dunderhead had not become president. Dunderhead has no speaking ability, except the ability to make up words. The wasted years are so obvious when you listen to someone who can put two thoughts together, instead of Dunderhead, and his constant "Were workin hard to put food on your family" crap. Even as the economic ship is sinking Dunderhead just doesn't get it. If you are reading this and you still believe in Dunderhead, please let me know, I want to see exactly what an idiot looks like.
Read Thomas Friedman today Thomas Friedman must be drinking the same coffee I am. After I wrote my little ditty, I came back to the kitchen and The Commander had his article up on the computer. Of course he is much more erudite and than I am about the idiot we have for a president. It is a must read, plus entertaining.

Real Gandy Dancers
One of my pleasures in recent days has been watching real gandy dancers. Out on the big construction job it was necessary to move some railroad track. Normally this would all be done with magical modern equipment. However, for some reason the crew doing the job is doing it all with hand tools the old fashion way. Building a railroad is not easy task. Watching these people work makes me wonder how they get people to do it. Pulling spikes by hand and moving huge ties with tongs is no easy task. Strangest of all in North Dakota is see a crew of big whites guys all under the direction of one big black guy. Seems weird, but it is good to see time are changing. It's like someone turned something inside out. The white guys are playing the role of the dumb brutes and the black guy is telling them the way it's done.

Todays reading assignment NYT. Phil Gramm says there is no problem, its all in you head. I am doing fine, so what are you whining about? Typical Republican morality.

The Commander Heads North to Canada
With great trepidation Lord Kadizzle sent The Commander to Canada in search of music and relaxation. In order to insure her safety his lordship bought her a new pickup truck to pull her camper. The old one was too small. If all our recreational toys come back from the folk festival in Winnipeg intact it will be a great blessing. Although his lordship is not a religious man, a little praying may be in order. Do to a minor snafu The Commander has no license plates on the truck. She does have a dealer sticker. She may get into Canada, but never get back.

My Friends the Warriors
For some strange reason it is a tradition that Indians are iron workers. Indians have a special sense of humor. One of my good Indian friends always calls me posing as the IRS. Yesterday while walking out on the rebar at work, one of the Indian iron workers called me over and asked " Mike, what has 75 balls and screws Indians?", I thought for a minute, and said I gave up?. My iron worker friend said " Bingo ".

Freedom is Just another word for nothing left to loose
If the fourth of July is about freedom, the Kadizzle's had a wonderful dose of freedom. Freedom from work, freedom from rain, and freedom from getting up early. The good ship sailed west on Friday to the mouth of Berthold Bay. The fleet gathered and sailed on to Bear creek at the mouth of the Little Missouri. Good rains have made the landscape along the lake green and very springlike. With a perfect wind and reach the Sovereign boomed west and stayed near hull speed all day. It was a fast and enjoyable sail. Saturday night was spent in Heaven Bay, and on Sunday we sailed back to swim with Uncle Bill at Little Hooter Bay.

Just Make it Up
Yesterday I sat down to have a typical political argument with a hard core. My hard core friend told me "Obama is a Muslim plant". Hard core told me Obama was a secret plant by the Muslims in their war against the U.S. Stunned I asked him if he really believed this? "Yes", he said. Figuring this was the next urban legend I asked where the information came from. Hard core admitted he just made it up. This gave me great relief. For awhile I thought Hard Core was in much worse mental condition than many right wingers are. Of course when I walked in Hard Cores office he was listening to Rush Limbaugh. Now anyone can see how urban legends are started. Some simple minded hard core just makes up a story they like, and the next hard core believes it without asking where the information came from. Magic rays emit from the Limbaugh show that neutralize the neurons in the brain. This is my urban legend, pass it on.

Keep the change
Iraq is estimated to have 100 billion in oil revenue. Remember when George and his buddies were going to have Iraq PAY US BACK FOR THE WAR? What happened? Just more bullshit from the Republicans who have bankrupted the country. Why does Iraq currently have 30 billion in the bank, yet the United States is still paying for everything? Our gutless simple minded idiot of a president went into the wrong country and now refuses to have the "liberated" people of Iraq donate to their liberation. How can we be so stupid as a country. Are there people out there who would vote for McCain so we can continue this stupidity? It just can't be so. No one could be that stupid, except perhaps my older brother.
