If there is a God Kadizzle would like to ask him why he did not make the rest of the world more like New Zealand. There are no snakes, no pesky insects, no cold, and last but not least thorny plants. Winky just noted to Kadizzle that her task for today will be clearing cats claw from the trail in Arizona. Cats claw is just one of dozens of nasty plants in Arizona. Some of the cactus in Arizona seem to chase you. Kadizzle has not yet encountered a nasty plant in New Zealand. Now why would God create such nasty plants when he did not have to? Charles Darwin would say the plants got nasty on their own. That seems to happen with people. Hiking here the thought of snakes is not in your mind. Again it is a constant thought in Arizona.
Kadizzle is having a hard time coming up with a plan to go to the south island. At this point it looks like another day here in Kerikeri is in order. May drive about and see what is around. May take a hike on one of the many trails. Should look into renting an ebike here. Kerikeri seems to be a bustling little town. Have been to grocery stores here about ten times already. They call the shopping carts here trundlers. Like that name so much better.
The roads here are good but have some oddities. One lane bridges occur all over the place. You will be on a nice wide two lane road, then all of a sudden it is a one lane bridge and a narrow one a that. Driving here takes the utmost concentration. People are a little frisky with their driving. Tourist must drive them crazy. Kadizzle sings songs about driving on the left to keep from getting killed.
Not since college has Kadizzle driven a little bug car. The Toyota Yarus or whatever it is, is like driving a ladybug down the road. It is a nice zippy little car and kind of fun to drive. There are no large cars here or pickup trucks. How they manage to get the logging trucks down these road is a feat.
Well it is the middle of the night here and perhaps with the jet lag it may be possible to go back to sleep.
