Julie the airbnb host just lay down to take a nap. Earlier she warned me a large Maroi woman would show up about four. The woman stays here a few days per week. Julie said she always tries to get the guest to marry Julie. So I have to quickly make Helena understand I am married, but then again, it might be fun not to mention it.
Rain here is strange. Just now there was about a twenty second downpour. When it rains here it is like a flood from the sky. I have to figure out how to get to the south Island. I got a room up near the top of the North Island for tomorrow. Just visited the New Zealand equivalent of Sam's Club.
Sitting on the tropical porch here. Seems like cheating getting to have two summers in one year, but Kadizzle will endure.
How about a political lecture? The people here seem to respect humans more than we do in the United States. Kadizzle is sitting on the porch high above a little street repair project in front of Julie's house. There is a pretty girl directing traffic down there. Kadizzle had to go down and chat her up. She is a high school senior. I asked her what she got paid. When she told me 17 dollars an hour it made me think of what a person doing that in the U.S would get. Probably less. New Zealand has a minimum wage which they respect. They have strong laws and a code of ethics that they do not abuse people like we do in the U.S. Even though they are close to cheap labor from Asia, they do not let businesses exploit people. It is a wonderful culture that also has an extreme respect for the environment. When they jail Trump they should make him live here an learn how to share the planet with ordinary people.
