Show up and Shut up

 How to succeed,  Show up and shut up.  Kadizzle in his 71 years has been around a few managers, bosses, or whatever you want to call them.  To his amazement he saw one engineer move to the top.  How did he do it? He showed up and shut up.  He never had an original idea, never rocked the boat, and when Kadizzle talked to him he had a hard time staying awake, but he never made any problems.  Of course you can add to the formula a good dose of  lickspittle.  A good show up and shut up guy watches the people who really have some gumption and imagination.  If the people with a pulse do come up with a good idea, then steal it and put your brand on it.  Kadizzle also noticed in his career that fall guys could get ahead.  If you were willing to fall on the sword for the next guy up that was commendable. Kadizzle used to work with a very dishonest guy.  The question was did his superiors know what a crook he was? Of course.  He would do there dirty work, and take the blame if the scheme blew up.  Incompetence should never hold anyone back. That seems to be the case so many times.  Kadizzle thinks of Mick Gross.  Mick played some political games and became head of the phone company in Hazen.  Mick gets named because he is a scoundrel that particularly pisses Kadizzle off.  Mick knew nothing about running a phone coop, but he got himself on the board, then convinced the board to let him be CEO.  Mick had his assistant do all the work, and of course Mick took credit for it.  Mick had no answers for anything.  Kadizzle was going to run for a position on the board and went into Mick's office to get some questions answered.  Every time Kadizzle asked Mick a question he turned to his assistant and said " Answer that for him".  Mick did not have a clew, but he knew how to play the game.  Mick figured out one thing like most scoundrels do, pack the board with your lickspittles.   How do you do that?  Well if you get on the board and agree to just go along with Mick you get to take nice winter vacations at the expense of the coop, and you get some cash besides.  Only one condition, show  up and shut up.  Now, all this brings us to the present.  Nothing, happens, nothing gets done. If you don't do anything nothing can go wrong.  So just let the place crumble around you and you will get promoted. Don't draw attention to anything, don't have an opinion.  That gets us to another important point.  Never show your cards.  When asked about anything never give a straight forward answer.  Always say, " I will look into that" or " We need to think about that".   Remember the Civil War.  Who was that General that would never go into battle?  Was it McClellan?  He was winning as long as he did not get in any battles.  Kadizzle has always like the Bible quote " The meek shall inherit the Earth".   The Earth the meek will inherit is a mess.  It is a mess because of the meek.  The meek were the people who stood there with their thumb up their *** and did nothing, said nothing, and just watched.  The meek were the best supporters of Trump even if they did not vote for him.  Their doing nothing got Trump elected.  So here we are once more being robbed by the one percent.  They know how to play fools.  If you try to tax them just shout socialism.  It is as simple as that.
