Everywhere

The plan yesterday was to find a mountain road.  The plan mostly failed.  The dessert played it's tricks on Kadizzle and the road which he saw on a hike the other day was not where he thought it was.  First, Kadizzle and Winky headed up a dead end road that went the wrong way.  Next the two hikers took off following her GPS to an Indian site she had found the other day. On the way there we came across a large pottery shard in the middle of no place one should be. Usually these shards are found close to a dwelling.  Soon we got to Winky's recent find of a dwelling.  From there we found two or three other new sites. For the final hike out we went down a desert ridge.  All along the ridge we found pottery shards.  The sheer number of dwelling we found in the area is amazing.  The Tonto Basin had a lot of inhabitants six hundred years ago.  Figuring out what they were doing is a continuing mystery.  Winky saw something shiny and dug it out.  It turned out to be a very well made bird point.  What is a bird point?  Apparently the Indians used very small arrows to hunt birds.  A small arrow has a small point.  This arrowhead was about the size of a dime.  If the ambition gland kicks in maybe Kadizzle will post a picture later.

We are up early to go to the grocery store in Globe. Winky has a notion that the virus can be avoided by shopping early in the day.
