Kadizzle has wandered and hiked a great deal of the country. In all the wandering the thought about how the mountains and valleys were formed has always been present. How was so much material moved? Yesterday we found out. Coming back to the Earth Module from Payson the road was blocked by sand and mud eight feet deep. To get home we had to drive an extra 140 miles around the blocked road. A highway employee attempted to walk across the mud and sank to his waist when he broke through the crust. Kadizzle had an idea. Call bill and have bill come to the other side of the blockage and pick us up. Nope, that would not work. They had the road blocked two miles back and we had groceries. Also they said to walk around the mess we had to go off the highway right of way. This meant an impossible walk. We gave up and made the drive. After you spend some time in the southwest you begin to see how easily water can make something like the Grand Canyon. Water can move a lot of material. It will take several days and hundreds of truckloads to clear the road in just this one spot. Climate change is going to bring a lot more of this problem.
