That glorious ball of fire is about to peek over the mountains to the East. Just finished reading an article in the NYT about the Patriot Church. Fundamentalist Christians are some of the most ignorant, dangerous people breathing. The pastor advocated going to the Jan 6 insurrection. Good old Jesus likes a little Trump action. Perhaps Kadizzle wrote about the guy installing our internet who thinks climate change is caused by another solar system with two stars. Yup, the crazies are among us.
No plan for today. It looks like it may rain on and off. We are at the mountain home. Winky came back from the store the other day delighted that some women were out protesting the right wing vote suppression at the main intersection.
Now this takes the cake. Back in North Dakota they have an annual bird count. Winky had taken part, but guess what? Payson has an annual bum count. Wish this was a joke, but on January 25 volunteers will go out and look for bum nest, and try to count the bums. Technically and politely they are called homeless. What a great country when you have a bum count. On a bird count you might brag about seeing an eagle or some other bird. What do you do on a bum count. Of course bums might have interesting nest under bridges or in culverts. The easy bums will be the ones on the corner begging for money. They are like robins, easy to find and plentiful. Bike bums might be a special breed. You do see them buzzing around. Perhaps there are good places to spot bums at dumpsters and so on. A train bum would be a real spotting pleasure. One could put out bait to catch the bums. Perhaps some donuts or blankets left where the bums pass. What a wonderful world brought to you by capitalism, and the Republican Party.
