What happened to the days when you could jump out of bed? What happened to the body that could pedal a bike up a steep hill in West Virginia? What happened to the eyes that could read without glasses, the ears that could hear? Like leaves in the fall old age is raining down on Kadizzle. The joints are stiff and failing. Bed time is early. Cars get old, goats get old, age is unstoppable. The Earth keeps going around the sun and the clock keeps ticking. The air comes into the lungs and goes out. Simple task become great obstacles. What is the lesson?
Old means you get to see the world differently. Slow seems better and better. Things that used to matter don't. Like a tree in the forest you see the other trees around you become devastated by beetles, wind, erosion, and age. The people you know, the people you worked with get picked off one by one. Old so and so gets drawn up to Jesus. Are you next? What is the schedule? Will you go in a puff or will you fall apart inch by inch? Hope I cheered everyone up.
Well the sun is shining and the wind is not too strong, so maybe old Kadizzle should run up to the boat and hoist a sail. Let the wind take him where it will.
