Here Kadizzle sits at five in the morning local time. The Earth Module arrived late in the day at Lake Roosevelt. The desert is scarred all around us from the fires. The desert burns in a strange fashion. The fire burns in patches. What seems to be the problem is grass. The grass grows so fast and thick that it is the grass that spreads the fire.
Today we will have to get the module into place, and hook up the water and sewer. Dave greeted us when we pulled in. It was good to see a member of the trail crew. Rita and Ken pulled in a few hours earlier and Winky walked up to cackle them.
A little rain is falling and the desert has that nice fresh smell. All the roads and trails are closed in anticipation of flash flooding. The fires create the situation where the rain just runs off too fast. The trail crew will have a new boss and it will be interesting to see what are assignments are. More than likely we will be trying to rehabilitate the burnt trails.
