Is the tide turning

Sometimes you can just sense something.  This morning it is rain.  On the political front Kadizzle thinks he is sensing the demise of Trump.  It just seems more people are actively admitting what a failure he is.  Hope springs eternal.

Looks like we will have to drive to Kellogg, Idaho this week to get our new truck.  The Kadizzles went nuts and bought a one ton truck with all the bells and whistles.  Now we can pull a circus wagon with all the elephants we need.  Since we may be homeless vagabonds we will need to have everything we own in our camper.  If only Trump and his gang can send us a big stimulus check.

The flush continues.  Cleaning out our house is a chore.  Yesterday it was like picking fruit.  We had to pick all the pictures out of those frames that hold about ten family pictures each.  It was a review of our children growing up.  Interesting to look back in the past and see the yard evolve, along with the belly and the scalp.

Over at Stroupini's we played with the prism Kadizzle gave him.  Kadizzle gave him a ship's prism.  In the old days they used to implant big cast glass prisms in the deck.  These prisms brought light down into the ship.  Out in the backyard at Stroupini's the prism makes light dance all over the place.

Sitting here in the engine room Kadizzle has the window open.  A simple minded dinger just went by on the highway.  Why do the simple minded have engines that are as obnoxious as possible?  Being stupid is bad enough, but the need to advertise your stupidity seems strange.  The dingers on motorcycles with loud exhaust have to declare to the world " Look at me, I am an idiot with no respect for anyone".   Reminds Kadizzle of the Red Hats and the Trump flag flyers.  Make sure everyone knows you are mentally challenged.  Some plants and animals let others know they are dangerous with loud growls or bright colors.  It is a public service letting the world know you are an idiot. Sometime you hear someone declare " Look at that idiot".  Often it is a warning.  Trump has tried to explain to everyone he is a dangerous idiot, but some just have to cross the railroad crossing in front of the train.

There is no problem so simple

There is no problem so simple it cannot be made more difficult. That is the mantra we live by.   When Kadizzle ask Winky a simple question that could be answered with a yes or no, it turns into a lecture.  For example if Kadizzle said to Winky " What day is it?"  .  Winky would not say Tuesday.  No, Winky would say " Don't you know yesterday was Monday, and Tuesday always comes after Monday.  On Wednesday you may look at the calendar and you will realize today is Tuesday.  Why did you ask me? Why didn't you just look at the calendar?".   So a simple answer that could have just been " It is Tuesday" becomes a half hour lecture on Tuesdays. This principle of making everything complicated drives Kadizzle nuts.  Once upon a time Kadizzle went to neighbor Bob and asked him to cut a piece of wood in the shape of a triangle.  Kadizzle gave Bob a square piece of wood and told him it made no difference what angle the resulting triangle turned out.  Simple, put the wood on the table saw push it through, and zip you are done. Nope, not an engineer.  Bob got out a builders square, a straight edge and made a simple job into a complex one.  That is the nature of humans.  Take the simplest task and figure out a way to make it complicated.  That often is the purpose of government. Look around you and see how many things have been needlessly complicated. So many times things are complicated with choices.  Back to Winky.  If Winky buys something she orders one of each kind. So if you want one shirt she order five.  You sort through the shirts and send back the ones you don't want.

Kadizzle is trying to go into a super who cares phase. Once you just don't care it is such a freeing feeling.  Ask yourself a simple question " What difference does it make".  Most decisions in life make very little difference.  However, people can ponder forever on if they should have cheese on their hamburger or not. People have such a tendency to get caught up on such nonsensical things that just don't matter.  Another major problem in life is getting attached to things. As we clean out our house it becomes apparent all the things we have been keeping for absolutely no reason.  Things haunt people.  Like snowflakes things pile up.  How does that happen. Kadizzle had a nice 55 gallon blue plastic drum that sat beside the shed.  It sat there for 15 or twenty years.  Always Kadizzle had a plan for that barrel.  Finally Kadizzle got rid of the barrel.  It was just a nuisance.  We all have all those things that someday we will need or fix. It never happens.  You wake up dead one day and someone has to give away all  your crap. Then there is the illusion that your crap is worth something. Nope, you can crap just like yours at any garage sale. There is a magic freedom in being free of junk. People are natural hoarders, and so are squirrels.

Let the Bulgine Run

The Kadizzle household is in a kerfuffle.  Winky is losing her mind because we are selling our house. For years this is what she wanted to do.  Winky wanted to sell the house and move to Payson, Arizona.  Now, the house is sold and Winky wants to keep it and die and rot here.  Winky is actually trying to get out of the contract.  Add to this the hassle of getting rid of all our junk, buying a new expensive truck to pull the fifth wheel we will be living in and you have insane turmoil.  Winky has been having difficulty sleeping.  Some decisions you cannot take back.  Well what can Kadizzle do? The song let the Bulgine run sums it up.  Once you light the fuse you have no choice. So, let the Bullgine run.  It is an old sailing song.  Apparently an old steam engine was called a bulgine.  Well, clear the track and let the bulgine run.  The fuse is lit, the house is going to go, we are going into the wild unknown.  Kadizzle was in charge of blasting and has worked with explosives many times in his life.  One thing Kadizzle can assure you is that when you set off an explosion you never know the exact results.  Winky has set off an explosion.  We may run up to the face after the explosion and find a thick vein of gold, or maybe just a pile of rocks.  Kadizzle has seen a good shot produce wonderful results and also extreme disappointment.  So hey, rig, a jig, clear the tracks and let the bulgine run.

Clear the Track, Let the Bulgine Run

Strange experiment

Yesterday Winky and Kadizzle had a conversation with some good friends.  We talked about the mess in the country.  Marnie brought up an interesting point. When we were talking about our experiences with black people she said we had no idea of their perception.  She was right. Kadizzle went to school with a few black kids.  Today he decided to try to find one of the black kids he went to school with. If Kadizzle finds him, he will say " Tell me honestly, and in your words, what was high school like for you, and what did you think of the racism at that time".  Who knows if I can find him, but it may be interesting.

The Bubble

Kadizzle lives in Hazen, North Dakota, everyone here lives in the bubble.  There are really two bubbles here, the Trump bubble, and the the coal bubble.  In the post below there is a very good discussion about nuclear power.  Kadizzle has been trying to wake up the cult here that they need to embrace some new ideas.  If the local cult does not come to grip with reality this town will die on the vine.  This morning Kadizzle has a notion to send the video to our city commission to see if it is possible to penetrate the wall of stupidity that keeps them in a daze.

Small Modular Reactors. Are they now unavoidable?

The Names

The world is not stranger than you think, it is stranger than you can think.  Yep, Einstein was right. Through the magic of the internet old Kadizzle has got into communicating with all the old people he grew up with in Wheeling, West Virginia.   Never did Kadizzle dream so many people he went to school with would become Trump dolts, Fox News simple minded Republicans.  As Kadizzle wondered to them, how did you a good education and waste it?  The school system that raised Kadizzle was a good system all things considered, but it turned out some sad people who bought into the Trump insanity.  The strange thing is to read names from the past.  Vague memories of people Kadizzle went to grade school with.  A lot of these former classmates were privileged kids. How did they fall into the trap of Trumpism.  Lazy is the only think Kadizzle can think of.  Mentally lazy.  Too lazy to read anything real, just turn on Fox and go for the fantasy.  Omar if you are reading this, religion is the poinsen.  Religion teaches people to give up rational thought, and just believe, no matter how absurd.  It works, Trump rode the back of the religious to victory. Trump knew if they believed that nonsense then his was just an inch away.

I am rich, so I must be smart.

A hundred years ago Kadizzle remembers talking with a teenage friend.  Edward Bippus was his name. The poor guy was a good friend of my little brother.  Bippus went on to the great beyond, but I remember a conversation with Bippus.  At some point Bippus said " If  you're so smart, why aren't you rich?".  Kadizzle has learned in his 71 years that there is no relationship between rich and smart. A lot of dumb people are poor, and a lot of simple minded people are rich.  No example shines better than Donald Trump. Trump is a man who has money from inheritance, crooked dealing, and the public's thirst to watch an idiot.  Too many people have a pile of cheese, because Daddy left them a pile of cheese.  They would be hopeless bums except for the fact that Dad left enough food in their bowl to last a long time.  The worship of wealth, and the rich has led the country to the dumb down state we are in.  Symbols of wealth have wasted so many resources. People live in oversized houses, with oversized cars, eating oversized meals. He must be smart because he is rich, so the simple dingers dress their bodies with bling.  The rich impoverish the poor.  Money that should go into schools goes into yachts, and jets.  " It's their money, they earned it", that is the Republican mantra.  Perhaps they should say " It's their money, they stole it".  Walmart enslaved a bunch of almost unemployable people and paid them a welfare wage.  Genius, pure genius.  Walmart sells stuffed animals, and shiploads of stuff people just don't need.  Walmart's  motto should be " Making poverty affordable".

Two Bubbas

The Kadizzles are in a crazy state of mind.  Winky wants to sell the house and move, but she wants to keep the house and stay here.  Everything is green and the yard is fantastic.  The house is in good shape and the living is easy.  If we are going to sell the joint we need to rid ourselves of the junk.  Kadizzle loaded a trailer with crap from the garden shed and took it up to the parking lot by the main road.   Kadizzle only had two customers, and an old friend stop by, but he managed to get rid of a lot of stuff.  First a strange guy pulled up who was a coyote hunter.  Kadizzle talked him into buying more junk than he intended.  A long conversation ensued.   The fellow said he was a retired railroad mechanic.  He live out of his truck and fished and hunted coyotes.  He sort of bragged he only saw his wife two days last year.  His wife is mining gold in Quartzite, Arizona.  Next two guys in overalls that appeared to be Bubba twins came by.  The chiseled Kadizzle down on everything, but they bought the junk.  The grand finally was an old guy Kadizzle used to work with at the mine.  He bought something, and Kadizzle just gave him a lot of stuff.  In the end the trailer was fairly empty with stuff that may get thrown out.  Meeting the strange people was fun.  Perhaps tomorrow Kadizzle will restock the trailer with fresh garbage and give it another try.

Dog gone

The Denver family has gone berserk over a new dog.  Old Snoocher Bear was never a dog person, but she has caught the fever.  Sylvie has totally lost her mind, and Fran grew up with a dad who always had to have a dog.  Danny is the puppies name.  Poor Danny is in demand every minute of the day. The batteries are going to wear out.  Kadizzle has always like dogs.  Dogs are just a different kind of people.  Give a dog a chance and a dog will always be better than a person.  The bad dogs you find were made bad by people.  Hopefully Sylvie will learn a lot by caring for a dog.  Since Sylvie is an only child she needs to realize what caring for another helpless person is like.  Little brothers and sisters teach us something and if  your little brother happens to have fur all over him so what.

The Best Sign Ever

Ok, click on this picture so you can read the best sign ever.

Waiting to die

Last night Kadizzle talked to a good friend.  The poor guy has a bad case of Lutheranism.  The man has plenty of cheese, but is afraid of the future.  Every day he goes to a job he cannot stand.  The reason is he is insecure.  He feels he needs more cheese.  He is trading his life for cheese.  As you get old you realize time is worth more than cheese.  You will run out of time.  You may not run out of cheese.  Each year you are able to do less. Each year your knees are weaker, you endurance is less.  Then you have the ultimate problem.  You may get cancer. Your heart may give out.  So live. Live now.  Kadizzle has seen too many people drop dead before they every got to put the cheese on the cracker.  People love routine.  You get up have the coffee and later go to bed just to do it all over.  There is more to life than that.  Pursuing the cheese has wrecked a lot of lives.  People have sat behind a desk as the world passed them by.  What for?

All this reminds Kadizzle of the old days when he was a kid.  The parents gave each of us ten dollars to go to the carnival.   Now you had ten bucks to spend.  Where you going to see the " Alligator woman"?  She walks, she talks, she slithers on her belly, or where you going to win big on one of the rigged gambling sites?  You had ten dollars, that was it.  Well that is life you have so much time.  Are you going to spend it sitting in a church pew or sailing on the lake?  Are you going to spend it in some damn coal mine or on the top of a mountain?  Kadizzle was a lucky man he retired when he was fifty, and does not regret it a bit.  The Kadizzles have some good friends who did the same thing. They biked from Spokane to Alaska, turned around and biked down the Rocky Mountains through Colorado. They spent 12 years in the back country of Glacier Park.  Some other friends sailed the Pacific for 12 years.  What about you?  Did you sit and stare at a clock waiting for Friday?  We have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

What inspired Kadizzle?  My brother dropped dead at 49,  a couple weeks later the guy Kadizzle rode to work with dropped dead at the same age on the kitchen floor one Saturday morning.  The hell with that Kadizzle said and he retired.  Haven't dropped dead yet, but have sure done a lot in the twenty one years. Kadizzle's last job was boiling water in a power plant.  A power plant is just a giant tea kettle.  There is a lot more to life than boiling water.  My buddy who is still trying to stack the cheese is a water boiler.  Boiling water around here is big business.  It is a boring business. Imagine maintaining a clock, but the clock always runs.  You just sit there and the clock ticks.  That clock is ticking away your life. Kadizzle sees sadness in the clock watchers.

Awakened

The body awakened at about three A.M.  Unfortunately it appears Kadizzle is in the same world he was yesterday.  A world taken over by insanity.  Maybe it has always been this way.  Excuse me folks, but religion was the first mass insanity.  People believing some nonsense without an once of proof.  That is what we have with Trump today.  Trump is just a religion.  Trump makes stuff up, and the Trump religious believe it.  In the old days a church could sell you indulgences.  Trump still does the same thing but it is more the mafia style of indulgence.  An easy sell is tax breaks.  You believe in me and I will reduce your taxes.  In the old days it was water into wine, now it is deficit into money for the rich.  Same magic tricks just different sales pitch.  In the old days the church always won.  The Republicans always win.  Once you get the believers to believe it is game on.  The Catholic Church raped South American and most of whatever else they could get their hands on including little boys.  Trump is not much different he rapes little girls and steals from us all.  Tell them what they want to hear. That is religion, and that is the Republican party.  Promise salvation as you steal.  The modern version is trickle down.  Wait for heaven, and wait for the rich to piss on you.  So Kadizzle woke up in the same world he went to sleep in.

The Real Virus

Mental illness is the real virus sweeping the country.  We have a leader that is a psychopath, his followers are delusional, and the country is crumbling around us.  Science has been relegated to the place religion should be.  Facts, reasoning, and logic have been turned into evils indulged in by overeducated people confused by reality. " I got mine " has replaced any sense of community.  The government has turned into the mafia.  The Don has himself surrounded by lickspittles helping him pump the swamp to the point it has become a lake of dishonesty.  No institution is too sacred to abuse.  Trump has defecated on the military, the supreme court, and his cohort Mitch McConnell has helped Trump grab the genitals of the legislative body.  Meanwhile we walk among the Trump zombies and act like life is normal.

Morning Outrage

Winky awakened Kadizzle with her insane need to open all the windows early in the morning.  This means Kadizzle is in the mood to be outraged.  For good outrage you need something to set you off.  Being so sound asleep Kadizzle was near death and then to have Winky zip the window blind up caused a nuclear reaction in the brain. Best to send this rage somewhere else.  Rob Port, what a piece of work.  This large lumbering hulk of Crisco is the excuse The Fargo Forum uses for not paying a real journalist.

Port wrote in the Forum that the Bad Ass Grandma group is a front for billionaires.  Guess what the billionaires are trying to do? The evil billionaires are trying to overthrow the kind Republicans in North Dakota. You know those nice guys who support the gentle Trump. Amazing billionaires banning together to bring democracy to North Dakota.  God help us.  God did help himself with the help of the Supreme Court.  Now those silly little religious schools can get tax money.  Only if they are Christian Republican religious schools.  The world is an amazing place.

A nice picture with Sylvie

Be sure to click on the picture and see if full size.  Grandpa has so much fun with Sylvie.

A Pleasant Stop

Winky diverted our homeward bound journey to Lake Angustrura in South Dakota.  It only took a little over an hour to make it from Lusk.  This is the same lake we usually stop at on the way home in the spring or on the way to AZ in the fall.   Very different with all the people here in the summer.  We ended  up ebiking and taking a swim.  South Dakota has done a very nice job with the park and there are miles of sandy beaches.  The water was warm and felt good on a hot day.  Later in the day a terrible storm went East and West of us.  The park blew the danger siren and the Kadizzles tuned in to the weather station. Things were tense for awhile, but all went well.  In the height of the storm Winky suggested if it got bad Kadizzle could put on his new bike helmet.  It is not actually a bike helmet, but an orange tree trimming helmet.  Kadizzle put it on and sat in his chair waiting for the world to end.  The world did not end so we awaken to another morning that is very pleasant, but Trump is still alive and wrecking havoc.

The simple minded

Living in the third world.

Winky and Kadizzle have awakened in Lusk, Wyoming.  Last night we wandered from the Earth module down to a covid 19 cafe.  After a nice meal we decided to get a milkshake.  What struck Kadizzle on the walk was the poverty and mess here in Amrika.  As Kadizzle looked around he thought it felt like some poverty stricken area in Mexico.  Lately the New York Times has been full of articles about income inequality.  The rich live in compounds and keep the poor at bay. Trump helps the rich exploit the poor and no one notices.  The level of ignorance in this country is astounding.  Too many times Kadizzle has talked to people who attended college and found them dumb as bricks about the reality we live in.  Most people live in their own little bubble.  Winky came back from the milkshake expedition on a little different route.  Winky reported there were some nice houses in this run down bum shunkle town.  That is our country.  A few do well as many scratch for a living.  Last night all these busted flat people set off fireworks to well into the night.  Without a pot to piss in they burn up their paycheck on cigarettes, fireworks, tatoos, and some fancy wheels .  Most amazing are the people buzzing around on four wheelers with a big American Flag celebrating the new slavery the Republicans have created.  Poverty for the whole country is a choice, not a necessity.  Will we take the country back from the one percent?  Ignorance is the real virus, and you cannot stop it with face mask.
