Sad to see the Brain die

Some problems developed with our pickup truck.  It seemed the battery was not charging the way it should.  After spending a small fortune the mechanics said the problem was solved, but they were not sure how they solved the problem.  Kadizzle questioned if the truck had actually been fixed.  In the morning Kadizzle went out to the truck and started the engine to see if the battery was charging correctly. Kadizzle reported to Winky who was standing by the the repair seemed to have been a failure.  To determine if the battery is charging of course Kadizzle thought he was looking at the gauge that indicates the state of the battery.  Winky said let me see what you are talking about.  Kadizzle pointed to the gas gauge and said to Winky " Look that needle should be right in the middle and it is not" .  Winky said " You idiot, that is the gas gauge."   Kadizzle suddenly realized what a 70 year old brain is like.  Fortunately the Truck had half a tank of gas so the battery was not dead.  Checking the correct gauge things seemed better. 

There is something magic about the brain, and sleep.  Yesterday Kadizzle drove himself insane trying to fix the garage door.  The door would go up about a foot and stop.  Kadizzle spent six hours adjusting, lubricating, and fiddling with the damn door.  Still no success.  In the end Kadizzle gave up with the thought that the answer might come to him in his sleep.  Awakening this morning Kadizzle realized he had been concentrating on the door.  Kadizzle had paid no attention to the mechanism that actually does the work.  Neighbor Bob asked last night " Did you lubricate the chain".  The answer is no, but that did lead to the thought about lubricating the slide the mechanism runs on.  That is probably the problem.  Cannot wait to find out.  Everyone has heard the saying " sleep on it".   It really works. 

Brain rot

Coming down the street towards the back yard there it was, a Trump flag flying on the neighbors flag pole.  How do people who appear capable and normal fail to see the sickening inadequacies of Trump.  It might have been acceptable to believe in the orange terror at one point.  Today the pile of lies, the evidence of Trump's incompetence, the endless fraud is so extensive how could anyone still believe in his cult.  Nothing has destroyed Kadizzle's faith in humanity like Trump.  People Kadizzle has known and thought to be normal are caught up in the cult.  What in the hell is wrong?  It is like Mormons, they believe the most insane nonsense, yet they appear to be normal humans.  How can the brain wander off into the wild?  Even Fox News has turned on Trump at times.  How do these people isolate themselves from reality?

Driving Entertainment

Sometimes one gets bored driving.  There is a solution.  Listen to KFYR radio until you get so infuriated you call in to Scott Hennen.  It is hard to say enough bad about this worthless lickspittle, but Kadizzle will try.  Driving with Winky toward the Badlands Kadizzle decided to call in to Scott Hennens Trump love session.  Kadizzle had a plan.  The plan was to set Hennen up by saying the subject of the call was fairness.  When you call in some prescreener answers the phone and ask you what your topic is.  Kadizzle said he wanted to talk about fairness.  When Hennen finally started talking to Kadizzle he said " This guy wants to talk about fairness, I wonder if it is about us" Yep Scott is about you and how you talk over people, hang up on anyone who disagrees with your, or go to a commercial.   " You allow anyone who agrees with you to talk forever,  Lets put this to a test" Kadizzle said to Scott.  " Donald Trump is the worst president we have every had and you cover up and spin for the lying con man."  " Do you deny it, do you have any shame".  At this point Hennen says " nice talking to you" and hangs up, and goes to a commercial.  Hennen proved the point. 

The saddest part of this whole thing is the tractor drivers that eat up Hennen's right wing spin.  Who would sponsor such cow droppings? Of course, it is Mr. Pillow.  Hennen brags about Mr. Pillow's book about how Mr. Pillow went from a crack head to CEO.  No respectable company would support red neck KFYR, but Mr. Pillow the guy who stands beside Trump does.  So a crack head figures out how to make pillows out of ground up car seats and makes a fortune.  The crack head along with Kevin Cramer, Kelly Armstrong and all Trump's North Dakota lickspittles come on Scott's show and get free political ads while Scott throws them softball questions. 

In past call ins Kadizzle has suggested to Scott he have someone on with him for balance.  "That is not necessary" Scott explains.   " If you don,t like my spinning, and lying listen to another channel".
Now if Scott has not dumbed down the gun totters, and the plowers enough, KFYR then runs a couple hours of Rush Limbaugh.  KFYR radio is an embarrassment to any sensible person living in North Dakota.  Get yourself a Magic Pillow and have your brains sucked out.

Kadizzle has never been big on political donations, but this year is different.  The scum we call Republicans has become so uncontrolled with idiocy. Trump spreading a conspiracy theory yesterday about a 75 year old man knocked over by the police is more than anyone can take.  Kevin Cramer is in the NYT today denying he knows anything about it.  Worse than senseless scum is the only way to describe these lickspittles for the rich. What does it take for people to wake up? Can you drive nails into the head of the idiots under the red hats?

Off to the Badlands again today for another bike ride.  Don't be silent about the Republican rats. Fight them on the streets, in the paper, at the coffee shop.  If our country is to survive these lying scum must be defeated.

Sniffers

Tomorrow another sniffer will come to see our house.  For some strange reason sniffers are finally showing up, but no one has made an offer on the estate.  Winky has totally seccumbed to her OCD.  Winky has Kadizzle helping her remove every dead branch from the property.  No one would believe the amount of organic detris we haul from this property.  Our wonderful neighbors to the West have an old rickety cart we use to haul to the tree dump, and the grass dump.  Kadizzle has the job of keeping it empty.  Winky and Marilyn see the empty cart as a challenge to fill with anything that was once alive.  Winky is back by the engine room asleep.  Kadizzle awoke at 4:30 A.M. and is in the kitchen getting up to date. 

Kadizzle came across an article about the national debt in the NYT.  The article gave a very good explanation Kadizzle recommends about what money it.   Money is a puzzle.  Basically. money is a belief.  It is total nonsense when you think about it.  You can give someone a piece of paper and they will give you a slice of pie with ice cream?  Money is nothing but faith.  Anyway read the article for an interesting spin.

Rant Time

Trump endorses Burgum.  That is what the headline said. Make Kadizzle puke. In North Dakota you seek the endorsement of Trump.  The State of North Dakota has become hopeless when people take pride in standing with the worst president in history.  Trump has nailed it.  Trump snatched the title from Bush with glee.  To see ads on television where a couple of Bubba's brag they are Trump supporters and you should vote for them makes one wonder what we have come to.  North Dakota has dumbed down to an extent formally unimaginable.  The state sits on 6.8 billion dollars yet will not pay teachers, allows people to go without health care, and acts like it is broke.  The only purpose of the legacy fund in North Dakota is to insure the rich are not taxed.  If anyone suggest making the rich pay their share of taxes then the piggy bank will be broken into.  It has not come to that.  Kadizzle sits in Mercer county.  Mercer county is in the middle of the coal game in North Dakota. The evidence is overwhelming the coal game is coming to an end.  Just pretend it is not going to happen.  Just like we pretend climate change is not real.   The dolts in the Republican mafia could be proactive and try to find some new economic base. Kadizzle favors looking into nuclear power, but the dolts want to revive coal.

Kadizzle is getting old. Sleeping seems to make him tired. Living in a body that is getting old is a chore. Awakened this morning stiff in the wrong places, and a back that would rather stay prone.

A New World

Old Grandpa Kadizzle gets a buzz out of seeing the offspring.  Too many times from the perspective of the children Kadizzle calls them with facetime to see the little monkeys in action.  Think about it, you can see Evie, Quinnie, and Sylvie just by firing up the little laptop.  Seeing those bugs always bring hope and cheer.  Those bugs are who we are fighting for.  As Trump does his best to destroy everything good about the world we have to fight back. Trump is destroying truth, education, the environment, and common decency.  What kind of world is Trump making for our grandchildren? Kadizzle is obsessed with this battle.  Republicans and their obsession with greed represent the worst plague of our lifetime.

There is enough food, medicine, shoes, wood, and power for every person on the planet.  The problem is one small group has take way more than their share.  Now call sharing any bad name you want.  Call it communism, socialism, or greedism.  It is simply the truth no matter how you slice it. If I eat all the cake there is no cake for you.  You can dance and sing, and say make more cakes, but the real solution is to share the cake.  Republican will never share voluntarily.  Governments whether you like it or not decide how things get distributed. Governments decide how much the greedy can take.  No matter what you label your government they are in charge of distribution.  When you say hands off to the rich stealing everything, they will.  That is what third world countries are about.  When you protect the rich you endorse their stealing.  Oh, no, its not stealing, they earned it.  Sure they did and Las Vegas earned the money in the slot machines.  Fooling stupid people is stealing.  Trump the con man has made stealing respectable.

So far something new did not work.  Kadizzle is trying to post a video.  Maybe some time will make it work. If not just disregard this. 

Badlands Goodlands

Again yesterday Kadizzle and Winky headed to the Badlands.  Little by little we are doing the whole Ma De Hey Trail.  Although we have lived in North Dakota and visited the Badlands many times Kadizzle only recently realized how magnificent they are.  It hit Kadizzle like bird droppings on the head yesterday that the only way anyone would ever know how amazing this part of North Dakota is would be to get back into the Badlands.  The reality is there is no way except walking, riding a horse, or bicycle that you can get back into the wilderness. The Kadizzles have intensely covered about every inch of the western United States in a span of twenty years. The Badlands compares with the best of what we have seen. 

Two old people in their 70's buzzing through the Badlands on ebikes hitting speeds of close to twenty miles per hour.  The trails are no do da ride.  More than once we had minor crashes.  There are plenty of places you could make a mistake and end up over a cliff hurt or dead, but it is worth it.  So far we probably have knocked out somewhere in the range of thirty miles.

Now a little tourism rant.  The trails in the Badlands are a great accomplishment for North Dakota.  However, without the push from private people it would never have happened.  North Dakota has some wonderful opportunities for outdoor recreation, but getting the money for recreation from farmers is impossible.  Farmers drive tractors for fun, they do not hike, bike, or do anything that does not result in an ear of corn.

A thousand years ago Kadizzle moved to North Dakota with Winky.  We lived on a farmstead and got to know the farmer and his kids.  One summer the Dad bought an RV.  The family  was going to go on the first vacation ever.  Kadizzle and Winky were assigned to watch the farm.  The farm kids had never really been anywhere and Kadizzle could not wait to find out what their reaction to seeing mountains would be.  Dwight was the older boy.  On the return Kadizzle asked Dwight " Well what did you think of the Rocky Mountains?".  Dwight said " They were big, but they would be very hard to farm".   So back on the tractor.

Imagine running a restaurant.  Imagine budgeting 95% of your resources to advertise and 5% of your funds to fix up the restaurant.  That is North Dakota. North Dakota will spend a fortune for advertising, but will not actually put a cent into any recreation project.  If you could use the big lake, the Badlands or the Little Missouri people would love it.  The cost of trails is nothing, a little money spent on Lake Sakakawea could do miracles, but no, no, no we just want to farm.  What does North Dakota do? The state puts up fiberglass cows, fish, and metal pheasants along the highway.  Kadizzle is always amazed when he talks to people about Lake Sakakawea.  It is a man made wonder.  It is the third largest man made lake in the United States, but guess what?  Most of the people in the state know nothing about it or have never been there. Why?  There are no decent facilities there.  The lake cannot be utilized by anyone but fishermen.  The lake could have trails around the shore, it could have decent places to eat, some marinas, golf courses, and cabins, but no, we don't do that sort of thing, we just chase cows around.

A new Sailor

Kadizzle took the Jennie Rose out for a sail with Nick.  It brings joy to the heart to see a young guy embracing the joys of sailing.  Nick has done a great job restoring the boat and has had a lot of enjoyment out of it.  We sailed over to Mallard Island and Kadizzle showed Nick the anchorage.

Today Winky and Kadizzle will. once more go to the Badlands to ride the ebikes.  Sniffers are coming to look at the house so we had to get up early and do some dusting.  Selling a house in Hazen is like getting Trump out of office.  It takes persistance.

OK a little Trump ranting.  All of our problems stem form economic oppression.  Poor people riot, rich people don't.  As long as we have system that encourages greed and hate, we are doomed.  The solution is right there, tax the rich, provide jobs for the poor.  Trickle down doesn't work. Forced trickling does.  We can build roads, schools, homes, you name it and give people jobs so they can live a decent life, but when we build yachts for a few, mansions, for a few, and personal jets for a few we have a problem.   This is not rocket science. 

Yesterday Kadizzle tuned in to KFYR radio to see what hate the station was stirring up.  Scott Hennen the mini Rush Limbaugh was glorifying the NRA mentality.  Some Red Hat called in to say how he was protecting his store in Bismarck with armed friends.  Ya, sure , ya betcha.  When an NRA gun dinger goes nuts and plays army we will have a real mess on our hands.  Just a matter of time, and then you have KFYR radio, and Trump blowing the dog whistle.

The Earth Tilted

The planet must have tilted a lot during the night. The sun is coming over Kadizzle's right shoulder. That means the house has turned almost 180 degrees.  The sun has moved from the south side of the house to the north.  Hopefully the politics of this country will tilt to sanity and the fuhrer will die in his bunker.

Kadizzle is going to get dressed and head up to the lake for a sail with Nick.  Kadizzle helped the young aspiring lawyer refurbish the old Jennie Rose.  Winds look decent to do some nice sailing.  Nick said the boat was cooking along at seven knots the other day.  That is over hull speed which is fun to do.

Rant: Make those Christians dance

Few political stunts in Kadizzle's life have been as rank as Trump's little walk to the church yesterday.  His antics were disgusting in so many ways.  Here is a man who has never gone to church unless there was a payoff thumping the Bible.  Trump is the ultimate crooked preacher. The saddest part of this mess is how willingly the silly fundies let Trump pull their strings.  Sorry, but Kadizzle feels fundamentalist Christians are every bit as bad as Covid 19.  How many wars, and terror have been brought on by religion. How many times has religion been used to dupe the simple minded. To see Trump make the religious dance strikes fear in the heart of anyone with a mind.

It doesn't Hurt to ask

Kadizzle has tried to drill this into his families head, but he just had an excellent example.  The Kadizzle's have been having trouble with their internet service.  In the final service call they seem to have it fixed. As usual they say " Is there anything else I can do for you".  Yes, you can take $25 off my next bill. They did.  Went through the same thing with Verizon many times.  Verizon gave me $75 off.  When Kadizzle talks to these people he explains that if their service works 50% of the time, then he should only be charged 50% of the bill.  Why not turn the tables on the CEOs that walk off with billions?  Just about anyone will give you 10% off if you just ask.  Ten percent of everything you spend could end up being $10,000 or more.  Some people call Kadizzle cheap and Kadizzle reminds them that the store or other person asking you to pay too much is not embarrassed, why should you be.  Turns out Kadizzle has been a customer of Midco for 41 years.  They have made over $80,000 from Kadizzle.  So lets think about who is getting the best of who.  It don't hurt to ask.

A little riot story

Once upon a time some native Americans got upset that a pipeline was going through their land.  This was in North Dakota and not much happens here.  It became a national news item.  A standard practice that you can now see going is to blame out of state protestors.  This is always promoted by the Republicans.  Kadizzle came across a post on the facebook at the time.  A local kid who had become a police officer wrote on facebook that he was in a bank in Mandan, North Dakota.  He was in line behind a native American.  According to the police officer he saw the protestor cashing a check from Warren Buffet.  When Kadizzle pressed the person for details the story fell apart.  First, do you think protesters are paid with checks? Making up stories for the gullible to believe is standard procedure for Fox News.  When you use the same trick over and over even a dog will catch on.
